Santiango wins female league - Mar 31, 2010 

Last week, Santiago de Cuba defeated 82-69 Guantanamo in the third and decisive game of so-named Final-Oro of the first edition of Liga Superior de Baloncesto, becoming the 2010 Female Champion team of Cuba. After dominating the first half, 40-28, Santiago never looked back, led by Ineidis Casanova (165-G-88), who scored 38 pts and Oyanaisy Gelis (172-G-83), who added 18 pts, while Carola Hechavarria (181-F-75) added 14 pts and 6 rebs. Promising forward Yunieski Bouly (184-F-92) was the best in Guantanamo, with 24 pts and 8 rebounds.
