Uruguay claimed the third position at Torneo Super 4 in Cordoba. They held off Cuba in the consolation final. Sebastian Izaguirre (207-C/F-85) stepped up with 13 points to pace the winners.
Uruguay surged ahead early in the game. They posted a 19:13 lead ten minutes into the game. The teams combined for just 19 points in the second quarter but Uruguay managed to ensure a 29:22 halftime lead. Uruguay tuned in offensively in the third period scoring 23 points and stretching the lead. They entered the fourth quarter up by 15 points 52:37. Uruguay did not slow down in the fourth period and sealed a well-deserved win at the end. Gustavo Barrera provided 12 points, while Mauricio Aguiar (197-F-83, agency: Players Group) netted 9 points in the victory. Juan Marrero (189-G-86) responded with 14 points for Cuba. Lisvan Valdez (194-G/F-88) chipped in 12 points in the loss.

He played most recently at Denain ASC Voltaire. In 36 ProB games in France he recorded 12.8ppg and 3.0rpg last season. Barrueta helped them to win the cup. Crelan Okapi Aalstar (Euromillions League) landed 21-year old naturalized Cuban point guard Sigfredo Casero-Ortiz (185-97). He played most recently at played at GET Vosges in French NM1 league. Casero-Ortiz managed to play in three leagues in two countries last year (!!!). In 9 NM1 games he averaged 10.7ppg, 1.2rpg, 2.4apg and 1.0spg.
