The Cuban Basketball Federation and the German Technology Company for Central America and the Caribbean (TACC) signed a cooperation agreement on Monday, a deal both sides described as an important step for the development of basketball on the island. The signing ceremony took place at the Coliseo of the Ciudad Deportiva in Havana, with the stated goal of deepening cooperation between the two organizations to continue growing the sport in Cuba. Under the deal, the German company aims to improve players' overall preparation by supplying goods such as specialized training and competition apparel.

Dalia Henry, commissioner and president of the Cuban Basketball Federation, called the agreement essential for the institution, noting it is the first deal of its kind for the federation and one that will help drive the sport's development in the country. The sponsorship will run for an initial 12 months from the date of signing, providing meaningful support amid the country's broader economic constraints. TACC general director Raphael Milton DeVol said the family-run company, which has more than 60 years of history in Germany and roughly a decade of work in Cuba, approached the federation wanting to contribute to the sport, expressing enthusiasm for the talent in the country and hope that the partnership endures for years to come. The new alliance is also being framed as recognition of Cuban players' talent and a boost for future generations of basketball players on the island.
