San Martin Corrientes (LigaA) strengthened their roster with addition of 26-year old Cuban point guard Reynaldo Garcia (187-90, agency: DTMones). He is not a newcomer in Argentinian League as he played most recently at Sionista (LigaA). In 55 games Garcia recorded very impressive stats: 15.8ppg, 4.9rpg, 2.4apg and 2.1spg (in top 2) last season. Great year indeed as he was voted to Latinbasket.com All-Argentinian LigaA Honorable Mention.
The previous (14-15) season he played at Estudiantes. In 39 LigaA games Garcia was fourth best scorer with remarkable 19.3ppg and had 5.8rpg, 2.7apg and 1.8spg (in top 2). Great season indeed as he was voted to Latinbasket.com Argentinian LigaA All-Imports Team and 2nd Team.
The most of 2013-14 season he spent at Fuerza Regia (LNBP) in Mexican league. In 40 games Garcia averaged high stats: 16.3ppg, 5.2rpg, 4.2apg (top 5) and 2.3spg (leader !!!). He helped them to make it to the semifinals. A very good season in his career as he was voted to Latinbasket.com All-Mexican LNBP 2nd Team and to the All-Star Game. Garcia also played for ComuniKT in Ecuadorian league that season. In three Liga Sudamericana games he averaged high stats: 26.3ppg, 5.3rpg, 3.7apg (top 5) and 3.7spg (leader !!!). Garcia's team won Cuban LSB Regular Season in 2008. He was a member of Cuban Senior National Team back in 2009.
Garcia has played previously professionally in Ecuador (Universidad Tecnologica Equinoc. Quito and Mavort) and Cuba (Capitalinos).
The scouts decsribe him following way: Reynaldo Garcia is an fantastic guard. Has great speed and court vision and so many skills. Great defender who can lead a league on steals and can defend all the positions in the perimeter. He can also play 2-1 scoring, rebounding, distributing the ball. Solid combo guard with solid work.
