Esteban
Martinez
23-year old power forward Jasul Rivero (203-F/C-93) had a very impressive game in the last round for Capitalinos and receives a Latinbasket.com Player of the Week award for round 15.
He had the game-high 26 points adding seven rebounds for Capitalinos in his team's victory, helping them to crush Camaguey (#7, 1-13) with 22-point margin 82-60. Capitalinos maintains the 3rd position in Cuban league. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Capitalinos will need more victories to improve their 9-5 record. In the team's last game Rivero had a remarkable 100.0% from 2-point range. He has many years of experience at Capitalinos, through which he has constantly improved. Jasul Rivero averages this season 11.6ppg.

Second best performed player last round was Esteban Martinez (192-F-87) of Santiago. He is former international forward in his first season at Santiago. In the last game Martinez recorded impressive 25 points and 7 rebounds. Of course he led Santiago to another comfortable win outscoring the higher-ranked Villa Clara (#1, 13-2) 91-63. This victory allowed Santiago to move up to 5th position in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 5-9 record. Martinez is one of the most experienced players at Santiago and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 29.5ppg (#1). He also registered 4.2 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Yasmany Deschapelles (181-PG-85) of Matanzas (#4). Deschapelles scored 18 points. He was a key player of Matanzas, leading his team to a 72-62 win against slightly lower-ranked Ciego de Avila (#6, 4-10). Matanzas needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 9 victories and 5 lost games. Deschapelles has a great season in Cuba. After 15 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 2.3apg (6th best). He also has 5.3spg and FGP: 52.9%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Abel Font (206-C-97) of Capitalinos - 14 points and 6 rebounds
5. Julio Heredia (183-PG-93) of Santiago - 18 points, 3 rebounds and 4 assists
6. Yuset Tito (197-F-92) of Guantanamo - 18 points and 9 rebounds
7. Elvis Pons (194-G/F-83) of Guantanamo - 17 points and 8 rebounds
8. Tomas Blanco (186-G-90) of Pinar del Rio - 18 points and 4 rebounds
9. Vanier Reyes (193-G-83) of Ciego de Avila - 8 points and 17 rebounds
10. Raudelis Guerra (191-G-93) of Guantanamo - 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
