Traditionally, every week we bring you a list of the top performances of Cubans who are currently playing abroad.
#1. This week's number one is an experienced former international point guard
Ineidis Casanova (162-1988, currently plays in Brazil). She led
Gloria do Goita to a victory over the league outsider Pro-Esport (0-17) crushing them
71-44 in the Brazilian LBF in Friday night's game.
Casanova was MVP of the game. She scored 16 points and added 9 assists in 34 minutes on the court.
Sport/Gloria do Goita (7-10) is placed seventh in the LBF.
The Regular Season already ended.
Casanova has relatively good stats this year: 14.1ppg, 3.4rpg, 5.8apg, 1.8spg, 2FGP: 37.3%, 3FGP: 25.0% and FT: 72.4% in 17 games she played so far.
Former Santiago de Cuba starter played for the Cuban senior national team year ago.
#2. Second place goes to former international center
Clenia Noblet (190-1987, currently plays in Mexico). She was the main contributor in
Quetzales' victory against the closely-ranked Escaramuzas (14-10)
87-82 in the Mexican LMBPF last Sunday.
Noblet was the best player in that game. She recorded a double-double by scoring 32 points and getting 17 rebounds.
Quetzales de Sajoma (12-9) is placed seventh in the LMBPF.
It was her team's sixth consecutive victory in a row.
Noblet has individually a very good season with high stats. She averages: 23.0ppg, 11.5rpg, 2.5apg, 2FGP: 51.2%, 3FGP: 42.5% and FT: 79.4%.
Noblet played for the Cuban national team in 16.
#3. The Cuban player who performed third best last week abroad was former international center
Yayma Boulet (193-1984, currently plays in Mexico). She contributed to
Lobas' victory against the closely-ranked Teporacas (16-8)
85-81 in the Mexican LMBPF on Saturday night.
Boulet was the top player that evening. She had a double-double by scoring 22 points and getting 11 rebounds. Boulet also added 4 assists in 44 minutes.
It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Lobas de Aguascalientes (17-7) is placed third in the LMBPF.
It was her team's fourth consecutive victory in a row.
Boulet has very impressive stats this year: 23.2ppg, 11.0rpg, 1.2spg, 2FGP: 50.1%, 3FGP: 16.7% and FT: 81.3% in 23 games.
She played for the Cuban national team year ago.
#4. Power forward
Arleny Gonzalez (185-1987, currently plays in Chile) contributed to an easy victory against the third-ranked New Crusaders (3-3) crushing them
84-49 in the Chilean LNF in Sunday night's game.
Gonzalez scored 9 points, had 19 rebounds and dished 4 assists.
It was the game of the round between two top 3 ranked teams. CD Gimnastico Vina del Mar (5-1) is placed second in Group A.
There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical.
Gonzalez's overall stats this season are: 7.2ppg, 13.2rpg, 4.4apg and 3.0spg.
