They maintain first place with 5-0 record, which they share with Santiago. Bufalos at the other side dropped to the fifth position with two games lost. Guantanamo will play against Capitalinas (#6) in La Habana in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Bufalos will play at home against Lobas and hope to get back on the winning track.

The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Mambisas. Defending champion (5-0) keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Guantanamo. Pinar del Rio lost their fifth game in a row. They still close the standings with five games lost. They share the position with Villa Clara. Mambisas will meet Yayabo (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Pinar del Rio will play against Panteras (#4) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
