LSB Round 10: Capitalinos hand first loss to Halcones- March 7, 2023
Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.
Huracanes - Ciego de Avila 73-77 Another exciting game for Bufalos (5-5) which played in San Jose de las Lajas against Huracanes (4-6). Fourth ranked Bufalos won 77-73. Defending champion maintains fourth position with 5-5 record. Huracanes lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with six games lost. Bufalos will play against higher ranked Capitalinos (#3) in La Habana in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Huracanes will play at home against the league's second-placed Lobos and hope to get back on the winning track. Lobos - Gladiadores 88-85 Eighth-ranked Gladiadores (0-10) were very close to win a game against second ranked Lobos (9-1) in Santa Clara on Saturday. Lobos managed to secure only three-point victory 88-85. However their fans expected much easier game. Lobos have an impressive six-game winning streak. They used an opportunity after Halcones lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position. Loser Gladiadores still closes the standings with ten games lost. Lobos will meet Huracanes (#5) in the next round. Gladiadores will play against Toros and hope to get finally their first victory. Halcones - Capitalinos 65-89 The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated Halcones (9-1) in Santiago on Saturday night. Hosts were rolled over by third ranked Capitalinos (8-2) 89-65. It ended at the same time the nine-game winning streak of Halcones. Capitalinos maintains third position with 8-2 record behind leader Halcones. Halcones at the other side still keep top place with one game lost. They share the position with Lobos. Capitalinos are looking forward to face Bufalos (#4) in Ciego de Avila in the next round. Halcones will play at home against Yayabo and are hoping to win this game. Spiritus - Toros 59-63 We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when seventh ranked Toros (2-8) beat 6th ranked Yayabo (3-7) in Sancti Spiritus 63-59 on Saturday. Toros maintains seventh position with 2-8 record. Yayabo lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with seven games lost. Toros will meet bottom-ranked Gladiadores (#8) in the next round. Yayabo will play against the league's leader Halcones having rather not much hope for a victory. Spiritus - Toros 74-66 Everything could happen in Sancti Spiritus at the game between two tied teams. Both sixth ranked Yayabo and 7th ranked Toros had identical 2-7 record. This time Yayabo used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Artemisa 74-66 on Sunday night. Yayabo maintains sixth position with 3-7 record. Loser Toros keep the seventh place with eight games lost. Yayabo will meet league's leader Halcones in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Toros will play against Gladiadores (#8) in Las Tunas and it may be a tough game between close rivals. |
