Liga Superior Round 6: Mambisas defeat Yayabo in the game between Top 4 teams- March 7, 2023

Pinar del Rio - Camaguey 44-84 Bottom-ranked Pinar del Rio is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their sixth consecutive match to fourth ranked Panteras (4-3) 84-44 on Saturday evening. Panteras moved-up to third place. Loser Pinar del Rio still closes the standings with six games lost. They share the position with Villa Clara. Panteras will meet at home bottom-ranked Lobas (#8) in the next round where they are favorite. Pinar del Rio will play against Capitalinas and hopes to get finally their first victory. Ciego de Avila - Villa Clara 90-46 No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Bufalos (3-2) crushed bottom-ranked Lobas (0-6) in Ciego de Avila 90-46 on Saturday. Bufalos moved-up to fourth place. Loser Lobas still closes the standings with six games lost. They share the position with Pinar del Rio. Bufalos will meet Yayabo (#5) in the next round. Lobas will play against Panteras in Camaguey and look forward to get finally their first victory. Sancti Spiritus - Santiago 41-95 An interesting game for Mambisas (6-0) which played road game in Sancti Spiritus against 3rd ranked Yayabo (3-3). Top-ranked Mambisas had an easy win 95-41. Mambisas have an impressive six-game winning streak. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Guantanamo. Yayabo at the other side dropped to the fifth place with three games lost. Mambisas is looking forward to face league's leader Guantanamo on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Yayabo will play against Bufalos (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals. Capitalinas - Guantanamo 56-82 Liga Superior top team - Guantanamo (6-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed sixth ranked Capitalinas (2-4) in La Habana 82-56. Guantanamo have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 6-0 record, which they share with Santiago. Capitalinas at the other side keep the sixth place with four games lost. Guantanamo will play against league's second-placed Mambisas in Santiago in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Capitalinas will play on the road against Pinar del Rio (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals. |
