LSB Round 12: Toros beat Gladiadores by one after a very close game- March 10, 2023

La Habana C. - Ciego de Avila 77-52 An interesting game for Capitalinos (10-2) which hosted in La Habana 4th ranked Bufalos (5-7). Second ranked Capitalinos had an easy win 77-52. Capitalinos have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 10-2 record behind leader Santiago. Defending champion Bufalos dropped to the fifth place with seven games lost. Capitalinos will play against Huracanes (#4) in San Jose de las Lajas in the next round. Bufalos will play at home against Toros and it may be a tough game between close rivals. Santiago - Sancti Spiritus 80-76 LSB top team - Halcones (11-1) added another victory to their record on Wednesday. This time they beat sixth ranked Yayabo (3-9) in Santiago de Cuba 80-76. Halcones maintains first position with 11-1 record. Loser Yayabo dropped to the seventh place with nine games lost. Halcones will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Yayabo will play against Gladiadores (#8) in Las Tunas and it may be a tough game between close rivals. Las Tunas - Artemisa 84-85 The most exciting game of round 12 in the LSB took place in Las Tunas. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of bottom-ranked Gladiadores (0-12) to seventh ranked Toros (4-8) 85-84 on Wednesday evening. Toros have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place. Gladiadores at the other side still closes the standings with 12 games lost. Toros are looking forward to face higher ranked Bufalos (#5) in Ciego de Avila in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Gladiadores will play at home against Yayabo and hope to get finally their first victory. |
