Liga Superior Round 11 of Regular Season- March 31, 2023
There are only two more rounds left in the Regular Season in Liga Superior. Here is the last round review presented by LBM Management.
Pinar del Rio - Villa Clara 71-72 Round 11 most important game was a victory of Lobas over bottom-ranked Pinar del Rio 72-71 on Thursday night. Pinar del Rio was very close to get their first win. But it seems they have to wait a little bit longer. It was the only win of guest team this round and in all other games host teams recorded victories. Lobas (1-10) left bottom position moving up to seventh place. It was Pinar del Rio's eleventh loss in a row. They still close the standings with 11 games lost. Lobas are looking forward to face league's second-placed Mambisas in Santiago de Cuba in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Pinar del Rio will play on the road against Bufalos (#3) in Ciego de Avila and hopes to get finally their first victory. Santiago - Ciego de Avila 71-59 An interesting game for Mambisas (10-1) which hosted in Santiago de Cuba 3rd placed Bufalos (6-4). Second ranked Mambisas managed to get a 12-point victory 71-59. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Bufalos. Mambisas have a solid series of three victories in a row. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Guantanamo. Bufalos at the other side keep the third place with four games lost. Mambisas will play against Lobas (#7) in Santa Clara in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Bufalos will play at home against Pinar del Rio (#8) and hope to get back on the winning track. Guantanamo - Sancti Spiritus 73-49 Liga Superior top team - Guantanamo (10-1) had no problems winning another game on Thursday. This time they crushed sixth ranked Yayabo (5-6) 73-49. Guantanamo have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 10-1 record, which they share with Santiago. Loser Yayabo keeps the sixth position with six games lost. Guantanamo will meet at home Panteras (#5) in the next round. Yayabo will play against Capitalinas and it may be a tough game between close rivals. La Habana - Camaguey 99-46 We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when fifth ranked Capitalinas (6-5) crushed 4th placed Panteras (6-6) in La Habana 99-46 on Thursday. Capitalinas moved-up to fourth place. Panteras lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth position with six games lost. Capitalinas will meet Yayabo (#6) in the next round. Panteras will play against the league's leader Guantanamo and hope to secure a win. |
