2023 ALBA Games - Venezuela wins Senior Gold Medal by defeating Cuba, 70-59

Venezuela's Senior National Team also secured a Gold Medal, just like the U17 Team did in their category, to complete a great participation by the country's Men's basketball teams as hosts of the 2023 ALBA Games, by taking down Cuba, 70-59, in the final Matchday that took place at Naciones Unidas Park in Caracas.

The team coached by Ronald Guillen (206-C-1984) dominated 24-19, 22-19 (46-38), 16-10 (62-48) and had some offensive issues to score in the last 10 minutes but still secured the win (8-11) thanks to a great defensive display against the Cuban side.

Yeferson Guerra (192-G-2003, agency: Pro Sports) netted 19 points and added 5 rebounds and a couple of steals for the hosts, followed by Kender Urbina (176-PG-2004) with a double double of 11 points and 10 assists, as well as 6 rebounds and 4 steals. Meanwhile, Fernando Fuenmayor (201-C/F-2000) added 10 points.

For Cuba, Neysser Coutin (192-G/F-1996, agency: Pro Sports) finished up with a double double of 10 points and 12 rebounds, adding 5 steals, while Joan Gutierrez totaled 10 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists.
