Capitalinos de la Habana have won the Finals opener at the Liga Superior. They overcame Santiago de Cuba 90-84 in the first game. Santiago de Cuba started better and took a 25-23 lead at the start. Capitalinos de la Habana meanwhile replied with a massive 29-16 surge to seal the win.
Joan Gutierrez (F-2003) top-scored for the winners with 20 points and Pedro Roque (187-G-1995) netted 18. Esteban Martinez (192-F-1987) answered with 33 points in the losing effort.
