Jasiel Rivero have paced Cuba past United States Virgin Islands at the start of the AmeriCup FIBA 2025 Qualifiers. He nailed 13 points as his team celebrated a 72-63 win. Both teams exchanged the leads in the first half, whilst Cuba posted two narrow victories in the second half with a 16-12 and 15-13 respectively in the third and the fourth quarters.
Yoanki Mensia (198-F-1997, agency: Pro Sports) and Yoel Cubillas (204-F-1994) scored 9 points each for the winners. Ivan Aska (201-F-1990, college: Murray St., agency: 011 Sports) answered with 20 points in defeat and Amir Nesbitt (185-G-2001) poured in 12.
