Puerto Rico hold off Cuba in El Salvador

Puerto Rico claimed the first win at the Central American and Caribbean Games. They toppled Cuba to improve at 1-1 record in Group B. Jorge Pacheco-Ortiz (188-G-1998, college: Liberty) tossed in 18 points to lead the charge.
Cuba led by 11 points after ten minutes 30-19. But Puerto Rico answered with a 25-14 run in the second quarter to tie things up. Puerto Rico used a 27-22 run in the fourth stanza to snatch the win. Andre Curbelo (185-G-2001) had 17 points in the victory. Yoanki Mensia (198-F-1997, agency: Pro Sports) replied with 23 points for Cuba.
