Piombino inks Sigfredo Casero-Ortiz

Sigfredo Casero-Ortiz

Solbat Piombino (Serie B Nazionale) agreed terms with 27-year old Belgian-Cuban guard Sigfredo Casero-Ortiz (185cm-1997). He just played at Moron in Spanish Primera FEB. In 6 games he had only 2.2ppg this season. He also played for Okapi Aalst (Pro Basketball League) in Belgium.
Casero-Ortiz was also a member of the Belgian international program for some years. He played for Belgian Senior National Team back in 2019 and previously for the Under 20 National Team in 2017. Strangely he also played for Cuban National Team in 2025.
Casero-Ortiz represented Cuba at the Central American and Caribbean Games in San Salvador (El Salvador) two years ago.
He is quite experienced player. Casero-Ortiz has played also in Belgium (Spirou Charleroi, Circus Brussels, CRF AWBB Jambes and Spirou Basket Charleroi B team), France (Golbey), Holland (QSTA United), Spain and Sweden (Jamtland).
Among many awards he won Belgian Top Division II (Group A) championship title in 2017. He was voted to Eurobasket.com All-BNXT League Honorable Mention in 2023.
