Cluj Napoca keeps Guzman for another season

Defending champion U-Banca Transilvania Cluj Napoca (Liga Nationala) re-signed 30-year old Cuban international 192cm swingman Karel Guzman for the upcoming season. He has played there for the last two seasons. The team played in three different competitions that year, and he had a chance to explore basketball on different levels. In 10 Liga Nationala games, he averaged 13.2ppg, 3.2rpg, 3.3apg, and 1.1spg last season. He also played 15 games in Eurocup where he recorded 9.3ppg, 2.8rpg, 1.5apg, and 1.1spg. Guzman helped them to make it to the quarterfinals.
He represented Cuba at the Central American and Caribbean Games in San Salvador (El Salvador) 2 years ago.
Guzman has played also in Argentina (Ciclista, Olimpico), Cuba (Capitalinos and Capitalinos) and Argentina.
Guzman's team finished as the regular season runner-up in the Romanian League in 2023. He was voted to the Romanian League All-Star Game in 2022.
