Sigfredo Casero-Ortiz

Union Mons-Hainaut signed 28-year-old former Belgian-Cuban international 185cm guard Sigfredo Casero-Ortiz (Tito Casero) for the upcoming season. He was the top scorer at Solbat Piombino in Italian Serie B Nazionale last season, averaging 13.9ppg, 2.5rpg, and 2.6apg in 10 games. Casero-Ortiz also played for Okapi Aalst earlier in the season.
Casero-Ortiz was also a member of the Belgian international program for some years. He played for Belgian Senior National Team back in 2019 and previously for the Under 20 National Team in 2017. Strangely he also played for Cuban National Team in 2025.
Casero-Ortiz represented Cuba at the Central American and Caribbean Games in San Salvador (El Salvador) 2 years ago.
He is a very experienced player. Casero-Ortiz has played also in France (Golbey), Holland (QSTA Utd), Italy, Spain (Moron), Sweden (Jamtland) and Belgium (Spirou Charleroi, Circus Brussels, CRF AWBB Jambes and Spirou Basket Charleroi B team).
He won the Belgian Top Division II (Group A) championship title in 2017. He was voted to Eurobasket.com All-BNXT League Honorable Mention in 2023.
