BCU16 - Antigua & Barbuda crush Dominica 113-34 for their first win
Team Antigua and Barbuda take a moment after the win
Coming off their disappointing loss against the Bahamas in their opening game on Sunday, Antigua and Barbuda dished out some medicine of their own, routing Dominica 113-34 to grab their first win of the Caribbean Basketball Confederation (CBC) male under-16 championship on Monday at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall in Georgetown Guyana.
Antigua's point total was the highest of the tournament so far as they waxed Dominica with triples from all parts of the court going 17 of 34 from beyond the arc.
However, the game was pretty much over after the first quarter with Antigua using a 27-8 run to put the Dominicans to bed early.
Antigua's run and gun style was too much for the Dominican defence and such proved true when Antigua simply dominated the third quarter to score 33 points while holding the Dominicans to their lowest quarter of the game with seven points.
Dominica did not play any better in the fourth quarter, only scoring eight points while Antigua had another 33-point quarter to run away with the game.
Anthony Greer dominated the game for Antigua with 27 points while Lincoln Weeks had a near triple-double with 20 points, 12 assists, and 9 rebounds.
Eric Joseph also had 15 points and Ahmani Browne 13 points in the win.
Scoring for Dominica came from Sherquan Jino Baptiste who had a team-high 12 points.
