Isaiah Austin claims Dominican Rep. TBS Hoops Agents weekly honour- May 23, 2021
The 27-year old center had a double-double of 24 points and thirteen rebounds, while his team beat El Million (#7, 2-4) 79-68. San Carlos is placed at 5th position in Dominican Rep. TBS. San Carlos is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 3-3 record. In the team's last game Austin had a remarkable 57.9% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at San Carlos, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Baylor University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Austin is in league's top in points (7th best: 19.5ppg) and averages solid 3.5bpg and 55.0% FGP. The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 31-year old American guard Gerardo Suero (196-G-89, agency: BIG) of league's best team Mauricio Baez. Suero impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 25 points and 10 rebounds. Bad luck as Mauricio Baez lost that game 57-71 to the lower-ranked San Carlos (#5, 3-3). Mauricio Baez managed to keep the same 1st spot in the standings. It was just his team's 1st loss this season, while they won 4 other games. Suero is one of the most experienced players at Mauricio Baez and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 24.4ppg (#2). He also registered 8.6 boards per game. The third best performed player last round was American Paris Bass (203-SF-95) of Barias (#3). Bass showcased his all-around game by recording 23 points, fifteen rebounds (!!!) and eight assists in the last round. Despite Bass' great performance Barias lost 89-101 to the lower-ranked Huellas (#6, 3-3). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing Barias needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 3 victories and 2 lost games. Bass has a great season in Dominican Republic. After only 5 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 23.8ppg (3rd best), rebounds with 12.6rpg (3rd best) and assists with 3.6apg (8th best). Other top performing players last week: 4. Raphiael Putney (207-F-90) of San Lazaro - 18 points and 6 rebounds 5. Ikechukwu Diogu (204-F/C-83) of Bameso - 15 points, 11 rebounds and 2 assists 6. Tim Bond (201-SG-95) of El Million - 23 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists 7. Jonathan Holton (202-F-91) of Huellas - 15 points and 15 rebounds 8. Darwin Cabrera) of Huellas - 16 points and 7 rebounds 9. Richard Bautista (187-PG-97) of Huellas - 12 points, 9 rebounds and 11 assists 10. Jordan Williams (198-SG-92) of Huellas - 31 points and 4 rebounds The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc. The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy. The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
