LDC Superior League Round 1 (Regular Season): Immortals lose to Pueblo Nuevo

The Regular Season in LDC Superior League just started. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

Immortals - CPN 97-89
The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Immortals de Cibao at the home court on Thursday night. Hosts were defeated by Pueblo Nuevo 89-87. They dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Immortals' 30 and made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Pueblo Nuevo 49-24 including a 38-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. American guard Sammy Rodriguez (185-G) fired 25 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Import guard Khalil Small (190-G-1995, college: Green Bay) was the bright spot for the Immortals scoring 25 points and pulling down 8 rebounds.

Fenix - Santiago Basket 84-81
Another exciting game was between Fenix and Titans where Fenix beat Titans on the road 84-81. Fenix made 24-of-29 charity shots (82.8 percent) during the game, while Titans only scored five points from the stripe. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard McGrady Rodriguez who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 27 points, 10 rebounds and 1 assist. Guard Josue Feliz contributed with 28 points and 5 assists for the losers.

Team Max - Moca 88-97
An interesting game was played in Santiago where Moca beat host Team Max with 11-point difference 97-88 on Friday evening. Moca looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Dominican guard Micael Urena stepped up and scored 26 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists for the winners. Derekjeter Mejia (182-G-2001) added 15 points in the win.

Los Capitanes - ZN Mambas 92-94
ZN Mambas used a home court advantage and edged the opponent from Los Capitanes 94-92 on Friday night. The Mambas made 32-of-37 free shots (86.5 percent) during the game. Dominican point guard Victor Torres stepped up and scored 34 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists for the winners.
