Dominican Rep. LDC round 3 best performance: Jose Guitian (by Hoops Agents)

American-Puerto Rican Forward Jose Guitian (207-F-1987) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for second-ranked Santiago Basket Titanes Dorado, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 3.
The 37-year old player had a double-double of 25 points and 15 rebounds, while his team beat Del Patio (#3, 0-4), the league's bottom-ranked team 92-86. Santiago Basket maintains the 2nd position in their group in the Dominican Rep. LDC. Santiago Basket is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 3-3 record. In the team's last game Guitian had a remarkable six three-pointers out of 10 attempts. He turned to be Santiago Basket's top player in his first season with the team. Former Lasell College star has very solid stats this year. Guitian is in league's top in points (7th best: 19.7ppg), rebounds (2nd best: 11.5rpg) and averages impressive 4.5bpg and 46.8% from behind 3-point line.

The second best player in last round's games was young Amet Gil (191-SG-1988) of league's leader Immortals de Cibao. Gil had a very good evening with 33 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. It was enough for Immortals to edge Santiago Max (3-1) 92-86. A very good start of the season for his team, which won so far all 5 games without any defeat. Gil is a newcomer at Immortals, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 21.6ppg (#2). His other stats are also decent: 5.2rpg and 3.6apg.

Third on the list of top players last round was Moises Peralta of LDC Ignite PP (#3). Peralta scored 23 points and grabbed 15 rebounds (!!!). Despite Peralta's great performance the LDC Ignite lost 89-92 to #1 ranked Santiago Max. But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. LDC Ignite can only dream about fighting for top spots in Eastern. They have rather bad season and 1-5 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Peralta has individually a great season in Dominican Republic. After only 4 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 20.8ppg (4th best) and rebounds with 12.5rpg (#1 in league).
