Caneros win the LNB title - Oct 16, 2010

Caneros managed to beat Tiburones in Game Five 85-93 and to win the LNB title with almost perfect 4-1 in the Finals. Caneros had eight players with double-digits in scoring last night. Ramon Ruiz (188-G-85) was the leading one with 14 points, while Edward Santana (203-F-80) added one point less. Santana pulled down 6 rebounds beside that. Reggie Charles (201-F-81, agency: Global Sports Plaza) and Juan Pablo Montas (198-F-84) (9 rebs) helped the new champions with 12 points each. On the other side, Tiburones got 23 points from Carlos Morban (187-G-82, college: Florida Intern.). Kelvin Pena (193-G-80, college: Southeastern CC) stopped to 16.
Caneros opened this game in style making impressive 14-30 lead. The hosts somehow recovered from this shock and closed the gap to 10 points until the half time. Tiburones totally took control on Caneros after the breather (27-18) and with 10:00 to go everything was open. However, Ramon Ruiz and his teammates shined when it was the most important and finished the last period with 14-21.
In the first meeting of this series Caneros was better than Tiburones 90-102. Tiburones responded in Game Two with 99-92 and tied the score to 1-1. In third game, Caneros was better and regained the lead. They finished the meeting with 104-93 victory. In the fourth game Caneros drained 117 points (117-95), what was enough for comfortable victory. Finally, last night they registered 85-93 win. Caneros ended regular season as No.1 in South Division with 5-4 record.
