Moca Superior clinched 2023 LDC title. They overcame Capitanes 100-96 in the Final. Luiyi Rojas (188-G/F-1999), Derekjeter Mejia (182-G-2001) and Kevin Nunez (185-SG, college: Lasell) scored 20 points each to pace the champions. Derekjeter Mejia was named the Finals MVP. It was an exciting game from start to finish. Capitanes secured a 50-40 halftime lead. But Moca Superior dropped 30 points in the third term to erase the deficit. They followed with a 30-26 rally in the fourth quarter to snatch the victory. Aneury Parra, Ernesto Rodriguez (190-G-1983) and Oliver Ferreira (191-G-1996, college: S.Dakota) responded with 20 points each for Capitanes.

Clarence Tillman, 34-year old American small forward from the Immortals de Cibao, earned the Finals MVP at the Liga de Campeones. He graduated from the University of North Georgia eleven years ago. Immortals - Zona Norte 77-76

GIE Cibao Immortals earned 2023 Lopez Cup (LDC In-Season Tournament) victory. They narrowly defeated Mambas in the Final in Santiago tonight. Mark Hall (196-PG-1994, college: St.Cloud St.) sank a three at the buzzer to win the game for the Dominican powerhouse.

Immortals recorded an 18-13 lead after ten minutes. Zona Norte sank 21 points in the second frame to tie things up at 34. Immortals went on a 24-16 run in the third period to regain the advantage. But Zona Norte found the way back into the contest erasing the deficit and taking a narrow lead late in regulation. But Victor Torres (189-SG-1995) came up with a decisive bucket to seal a two point led for the home team. Immortals head coach Jermaine Barnes called a timeout and drew up a game winning play. Mark Hall finished with 20 points, while Kelvin Tavarez accounted for 22 points for the champions. Victor Torres answered with 26 points in a losing effort.
