GIE Cibao Immortals clinched 2025-2026 LDC title. They overcame Max 109-102 in the Final. Clarence Tillman, Oliver Garcia and Angel Rivas (198-F-1993) scored 20+ points each to pace the champions. Tillman was named the Finals MVP. It was an exciting game from start to finish. Immortals dominated the game start to finish. The season is going so well for the Immortals, the LDC Superior leagues’ most popular team has traveled to Europe, USA and of course the Dominican Republic in 2025. Today, Angel Rivas (198-F-1993) was named the Most Valuable Player of the LDC after his breakout season for the GIE Cibao Immortals.

A two-way travel player with the Immortals, Rivas averaged 19.2 points (4th), 9.2 rebounds (3rd), 1.7 blocks (2nd), and 2.1 steals (3rd) over 15 games in the LDC Superior League. The Dominican native led the LDC with 225 made field goals for the season and finished with the third-most total points (287) and tied for the third-most three point makes (77). Overall, Rivas shot 41.8 three-point percent for the year (ranked #2 in the LDC).

Rivas consistent play continued in the USA, scoring at least 16 points in 5 NCAA games. He also logged 4 double-doubles while in Atlanta, Georgia. He averaged a team best 16.0 points, 8.2 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game (USA tour).

With Rivas leading the way, the Immortals finished the regular season 12-3 to lock down their 4th LDC Regular Season title.

Rivas’ list of awards in 2025 has been a memorial run. The summer of 2025 he was named to the UsBasket.com All-United Pro Invitational First Team and Defensive Player of the Year in Atlanta, GA. Rivas is the only triple crown winner of the LDC Superior League winning ever major award in the league including international cup play.
