Parque Hostos clinch La Vega Tournament title - Dec 12, 2009 Parque Hostos - Dosa 88:84 Parque Hostos celebrated the eighth La Vega Tournament title. They held off Dosa in the decisive game of the Final series. Parque Hostos once again proved their status of the most winning team in the league. Parque Hostos surged ahead right from the start. They outgunned Dosa 25:18 in the first quarter. But the opponents quickly bounced back in the second stanza. They celebrated a 24:18 success to trail by just one point at halftime. Dosa erased the deficit in the third quarter and levelled things up at 64 heading into the fourth term. It all came down to the final seconds in this one. William Gomez accounted for crucial free throws late in regulation and Parque Hostos ran away with the win at the end. Kelvin Pena (193-G-81, college: Southeastern CC) exploded with 33 points and 8 assists to pace Parque Hostos. Alexander Lopez added 18 points and 7 assists, while Carlos Paniagua (201-F/C-76, college: Tenn Temple) contributed 16 points and 17 boards in the victory. Marlon Martinez (204-F/C-79) answered with 22 points and 12 boards for Dosa. Jack Michael Martinez (203-F/C-81, agency: Paris Global Sports) had 16 points and 18 boards in defeat.
