Barnes helped guide the Immortals to a franchise-record 12-0 wins and the league's top record.

SANTIAGO – GIE Cibao Immortals head coach Jermaine Barnes is the recipient of the Coca-Cola Trophy as the 2024 LDC Coach of the Year, the LDC Superior League announced today. This is the 3rd LDC Coach of the Year Award for Barnes' (2022, 2024, 2025).

Barnes received 58 points (55 first-place votes) from a global panel of 55 sportswriters and broadcasters. Team Max head coach Max Castro finished in second place with 3 points (1 first-place votes).

He guided the Immortals to an LDC-leading 12-0 record in the regular season, the most victories and the highest winning percentage (1.000) in a season in franchise history. Immortals had identical 6-0 records at home and on the road. The Immortals tied their 2022 regular season record becoming the first franchise in LDC history to have two undefeated seasons.

Barnes was named the LDC Coach of the Month twice (October and November). He and his staff also earned the spot to coach Team South in the 2025 LDC All-Star Game.

This is Barnes’ fourth season as the Immortals’ head coach. Last season, he guided GIE to a 9-2 record and its fourth appearance in the LDC Finals. Barnes previously served as head coach of several club around the world including Germany, France, Morrocco, Lebanon, Mexico and Taiwan. In 2017 Barnes was named head coach of the USA Women's National Team in the FIBA Jones Cup (Taiwan). The Americans won Silver by defeating Korea.

Clarence Tillman, 34-year old American small forward from the Immortals de Cibao, earned the Finals MVP at the Liga de Campeones. He graduated from the University of North Georgia eleven years ago. Tillman received multiple other awards, picked up the Import Player of the Year, Lopez Cup Best Player and earned a spot in the First Team. He averaged 27 points and 8 rebounds per game in the league. Tillman has totalled 3 games of 20 or more points and recorded double-doubles in 2 games on the year. His 35 points against Del Patio were the most he scored in the 24 25 season. Among many awards he won the ABA championship title in 2017, 2018 and 2021.
Ameth Gil, 36-year old shooting guard from the Immortals de Cibao, was named the Player of the Year of United Cup. He was also voted to the First Team. Gil helped Gil's team have an undefeated season as Immortals de Cibao was not challenged in the league with a perfect 11 to 0 in the regular season. He was previously selected to the Second Team back in 2022. Gil was the Player of the Week honoree in the league. His court vision propelled him to the fifth spot in points per game an outstanding average of over 19. Gil also registered over 5 rebounds per game that season in the league. He has totalled 7 games of 20 or more points on the year. Gil's 33 points against Santiago Max were the most he scored in the 24 25 season.
Moises Peralta, 29-year old forward from the Santiago Basket Titanes Dorado, was voted the Defensive Player of the Year at the Liga de Campeones. He was also chosen to the First Team. Peralta had almost 21 points and over 12 rebounds per game over the season in the league. He has totalled 3 games of 20 or more points and recorded double-doubles in 4 games on the year. Peralta's 23 points against Santiago Max were the most he scored in the 24 25 season. He won the Dominican Republic LDC Superior championship title in 2023.
Jthan Aybar, from the Santiago Max, was selected as the Most Improved Player of the Year of Liga de Campeones. He was also named to the First Team. Aybar averaged 5 rebounds per game in the league.
