Trevor Ariza
Trevor Ariza
#1. This week's number one is former international forward Trevor Ariza (203-85, college: UCLA, currently plays in NBA). He could not help the Houston Rockets (52-25) in their last game on Thursday. Despite Ariza's very good performance the Houston Rockets (52-25) were defeated 117-107 on the road by the Portland Trail Blazers. He was the second best scorer with 17 points. Ariza also added 5 rebounds. Ariza has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages: 11.8ppg, 5.7rpg, 2.1apg, 1.9spg, 2FGP: 56.3%(126-224), 3FGP: 35.1% and FT: 74.2%. Ariza has a dual citizenship: Dominican Republic and American. He played for the Dominican Republic senior national team twelve years ago. Strangely Ariza has never played in Dominican Republic.

Sammy Mejia
Sammy Mejia
#2. Second place goes to an experienced former international swingman Sammy Mejia (198-83, college: De Paul, currently plays in Turkey). He was not able to help Tofas (10-14) in their last game. Despite Mejia's good performance Tofas lost 75-90 in Istanbul to the second-ranked Fenerbahce. He was the second best scorer with 13 points. Mejia also added 6 passes in 37 minutes. It was Tofas' third consecutive loss in a row. Mejia has relatively good stats this year: 14.5ppg, 4.9rpg, 3.5apg, 1.2spg, 2FGP: 62.5%(75-120), 3FGP: 44.1% and FT: 73.3% in 24 games he played so far. He is another player who holds two passports: Dominican Republic and American. Mejia played for the Dominican Republic national team in 2005. Apparently he has never played in Dominican Republic.
