Ivan Johnson
IVAN JOHNSON

34-year old center Ivan Johnson (203-C-84, agency: Haylett Sports) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for second-ranked Sameji and receives a Interperformances Santiago League Player of the Week award for round 13.
He had a double-double of 30 points and 13 rebounds, while his team beat CDP (#5, 3-6) 109-94. Sameji is placed at 2nd position in Dominican Rep. Santiago League. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Regular Season. Sameji will need more victories to improve their 5-2 record. In the team's last game Johnson had a remarkable 72.7% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Sameji, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Cal State - San Bernardino graduate has very impressive stats this year. Johnson is in league's top in points (6th best: 21.4ppg), rebounds (8th best: 7.6rpg) and averages solid 1.1bpg and 67.2% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Michael Glover (203-C/F-87) of Pueblo Nuevo. He is American in his first season at Pueblo Nuevo. In the last game Glover recorded impressive double-double of 35 points and 21 rebounds. Bad luck as Pueblo Nuevo was edged by the higher-ranked GUG (#1, 6-2) 94-93. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Pueblo Nuevo still maintains its place in the top 4 of the standings, even despite this loss. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 3-6 record. Glover is one of the most experienced players at Pueblo Nuevo and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to another Sameji's star - guard Jamel Staten (198-G-83). Staten showcased his all-around game by recording 28 points, twelve rebounds (!!!) and four assists in the last round. He was another key player of Sameji, helping his team with a 109-94 easy win against the lower-ranked CDP (#5, 3-6). Sameji needs these victories very badly if they think about taking over top position in the standings. Their record at this point is 5 victories and 2 lost games. Staten has a great season in Dominican Republic. After only 7 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 24.9ppg (4th best) and rebounds with 9.3rpg (6th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Paris Bass (203-G/F-95) of CDP - 21 points, 18 rebounds and 7 assists
5. Nehemias Morillo (196-G-92) of Sameji - 24 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists
6. Adris Rodriguez (202-C/F-82) of GUG - 11 points, 14 rebounds and 2 assists
7. Jensy Jimenez) of CDP - 18 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists
8. Kelvin Pena (193-G-80) of GUG - 25 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists
9. Juan Guerrero (201-F-93) of GUG - 18 points, 11 rebounds and 3 assists
10. Jose Omeriza) of GUG - 17 points and 5 rebounds

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
