Ivan Johnson
Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

Very significant was Sameji's (#2, 6-2) victory against 3rd ranked Plaza (5-4) 133-97. Sameji forced 19 Plaza turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 33 assists. Guard Bryant Mendez scored 28 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American center Ivan Johnson (203-84, college: CS San Bernar., agency: Haylett Sports) chipped in 21 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Guard Oliver Garcia (188-96) responded with 31 points and 7 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Sameji have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with GUG. Plaza at the other side keeps the third place with four games lost. Sameji's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Santiago to the arena GUG.
Bottom-ranked Cupes managed to get the second consecutive victory. This time they won against fifth-ranked CDP in Santiago 102-93. Point guard Juan-Miguel Suero (198-93) notched a double-double by scoring 28 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) to lead the effort and Breidy Reyes supported him with 5 points and 12 rebounds. Even a double-double of 36 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds by American swingman Paris Bass (203-95, college: Detroit Mercy) did not help to save the game for CDP. Cupes (3-5) moved-up to fourth place. CDP lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom position with seven games lost. Cupes will play against Pueblo Nuevo (#5) in the next round. CDP will have a break next round.
