Paris Bass
Guard Bryant Mendez (G) had a great game in the last round for second-ranked Sameji, receiving a Interperformances Santiago League Player of the Week award for round 14.
The player was the main contributor (28 points, six rebounds and four assists) to his team's victory, helping them to outclass Plaza (#3, 5-4) with 36-point margin 133-97. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Sameji maintains the 2nd position in Dominican Rep. Santiago League. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Regular Season. Sameji will need more victories to improve their 6-2 record. In the team's last game Mendez had a remarkable 76.9% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Sameji, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Bryant Mendez averages this season 16.1ppg and 5.8rpg.

The second best player in last round's games was 23-year old American Paris Bass (203-G/F-95) of CDP. Bass had a very good evening with a double-double of 36 points and 12 rebounds. Bad luck as CDP lost that game 93-102 to slightly higher-ranked Cupes (#4, 3-5). This loss caused CDP to slide to the very bottom (6) position in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 3-7 record. Bass is one of the most experienced players at CDP and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was guard Oliver Garcia (188-G-96) of Plaza (#3). Garcia got into 30-points club by scoring 31 points in the last round. He went also for seven assists. Despite Garcia's great performance Plaza lost 97-133 to #2 ranked Sameji. But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The last thing Plaza needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 5 victories and 4 lost games. Garcia has a great season in Dominican Republic. After only 8 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 23.6ppg (4th best) and assists with 5.5apg (7th best). He also has FGP: 56.8% and 3PT: 43.3%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Juan Miguel Suero (198-PG-93) of Cupes - 28 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists
5. Ivan Johnson (203-C-84) of Sameji - 21 points, 10 rebounds and 3 assists
6. Lenin Rodriguez (G) of Sameji - 20 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists
7. Gustavo Rivas (F) of Sameji - 13 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists
8. Jamel Staten (198-G-83) of Sameji - 14 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists
9. Jose Americo Delgado (193-C-90) of Plaza - 16 points and 5 rebounds
10. Aneurys Parra) of Cupes - 12 points and 4 rebounds

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
