The Second Stage in Santiago League just started. Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of GUG (0-1) against Cupes on Wednesday night. Cupes were defeated by Cupes (1-0) 78-72. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Juan-Miguel Suero (198-93) who helped to win the game recording 23 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. point guard Jaison Valdez (188-95) contributed with 17 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Cupes' coach Vladimir Frias used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Juan Guerrero (201-93) answered with 16 points and 8 rebounds for GUG. Cupes' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Santiago Sameji.
An interesting game for Sameji (1-0) which played against Plaza (0-1). Sameji managed to get a 10-point victory 104-94. Guard Nehemias Morillo (196-92, college: S.Florida) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winners and Jamel Staten chipped in 20 points and 11 rebounds. At the losing side naturalized Spanish center Jhonatan Araujo (208-96) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists. Sameji's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Santiago to the arena Cupes.



GUG - Cupes 72-78

An interesting game for Sameji (1-0) which played against Plaza (0-1). Sameji managed to get a 10-point victory 104-94. Sameji made 16-of-20 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Plaza turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Guard Nehemias Morillo (196-92, college: S.Florida) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winners and American guard Jamel Staten (198-83, college: Minn.St.-Mankato) chipped in 20 points and 11 rebounds. At the losing side naturalized Spanish center Jhonatan Araujo (208-96) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists and U.S. Virgin Islands-American forward Jamaal Samuel (206-93, college: La-Monroe) scored 24 points and 7 rebounds.
