There were only 2 rounds played so far and it's still very beginning of the Second Stage in Santiago League. Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Cupes (1-1) against Sameji on Friday night. Sameji were defeated by Sameji (2-0) 112-99. Sameji looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. 26 personal fouls committed by Cupes helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Guard Nehemias Morillo (196-92, college: S.Florida) had a double-double by scoring 26 points, 5 rebounds and 11 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American guard Jamel Staten (198-83, college: Minn.St.-Mankato) chipped in 22 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. point guard Jaison Valdez (188-95) responded with 38 points (!!!) and 4 assists. Cupes' coach Vladimir Frias rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Sameji's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Santiago to the arena GUG.
Very significant was GUG's (#2) 28-point victory against Plaza 111-83. Forward Juan Guerrero (201-93) notched 23 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the effort and Luis David Montero supported him with 23 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Even 24 points by guard Oliver Garcia (188-96) did not help to save the game for Plaza. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. GUG's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Santiago Sameji.
