Al Zamalek signs Edgar Sosa

Al Zamalek (Superleague) signed 33-year old American (has also Dominican Rep. passport) point guard Edgar Sosa (190cm-80kg-88, college: Louisville). Sosa played last season at Rasta Vechta in German ProA. In 15 BBL games he had very impressive stats: 16.5ppg, 2.0rpg and 3.4apg previous season. He also played for Boulazac Basket in French Betclic ELITE ProA where in three games he recorded 12.3ppg, 1.7rpg and 3.3apg.
Sosa has tried to make it to the NBA and played in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2012.
He represented USA at the FIBA Americas in Caracas (Venezuela) eight years ago. His team got to the Semifinals and his stats at that event were 10 games: 6.9ppg, 1.2rpg, 1.8apg, FGP: 42.9%, 3PT: 30.4%, FT: 78.3%.
Sosa is quite experienced player. He has played in eleven different countries on five different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America, Australia and of course North America). Sosa has played previously professionally in Australia (New Zealand Breakers), Iran (Petrochimi), Italy (Caserta, Venezia and Sassari), Lebanon (Al Riyadi), Puerto Rico (Cangrejeros), Spain (Valladolid), NBA (Atlanta Hawks), France (Gravelines Dunkerque) and Dominican Republic (Leones and Reales).
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others he won Lebanese League championship title in 2017. He was also voted Asia-Basket.com All-Iranian Superleague Guard of the Year back in 2016.
Sosa attended University of Louisville until 2010 and it will be his twelfth (!!!) season as a professional player.
He could be described: A very promising combo guard, with an immense upside. Has yet the court vision and the passing skills of a proven PG, scores a lot of points and can defend well. After the Centrobasket for Juniors 2005, he has been invited at the Dominican NT Senior camp.
