Kristina Puthoff-King claims Dominican Rep. TSF Hoops Agents weekly honour- April 2, 2023
The 30-year old playmaker had a double-double of 20 points and ten rebounds, while her team beat Leona (#3, 3-5) 100-92. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Dragons maintains the 2nd position in Dominican Rep. TSF. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Dragons will need more victories to improve their 5-4 record. Puthoff-King just recently signed at Dragons, being already a very valuable addition to the team. University of Richmond graduate has very impressive stats this year. Puthoff-King is in league's top in points (4th best: 19.0ppg) and averages solid 2.4spg. Worth to mention Puthoff-King played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped her get the job in pro basketball. The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American power forward Marquisha Harris (180-PF-1993) of league's best team Santiago. Harris impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 18 points and 18 rebounds. Bad luck as Santiago lost that game 60-69 to the lower-ranked Panteras (#4, 3-6). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Santiago still maintains its place as the top team in the standings, even despite this loss. Her team has currently 7-3 record. Harris is one of the most experienced players at Santiago and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. Western Michigan University alumni Harris played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. The third best performed player last round was American Aaliyah Rice (175-F-1997, agency: Domantay Sports) of Leona (#3). Rice scored 29 points and grabbed ten rebounds. Despite Rice's great performance Leona lost 92-100 to #2 ranked Dragons. But her team cannot count on just a single shooter as she also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The chances of Leona not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 5 games, recording just three victories. With bigger assistance of her teammates, Rice could try to bring Leona's a little bit higher in the standings. Rice has individually a great season in Dominican Republic. After only 9 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 15.7ppg (9th best), rebounds with 9.3rpg (3rd best) and assists with 2.4apg (7th best). Rice attended one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on her way to pro basketball. Other top performing players last week: 4.
