TSF Round 10: Dragons defeat Santiago

Here is the last round review presented by LBM Management.

The most crucial game of the last round was another loss of top-ranked Santiago (7-4) at the home court on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by second ranked Dragons (6-4) 91-82. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. Dragons looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Santiago's players. American players dominated the game. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Kristina Puthoff-King (180-1992, college: Richmond) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 30 points, 10 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals. point guard Taylor Brown (170-1993, college: GMU) contributed with 32 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Marquisha Harris (180-1993, college: W.Michigan) replied with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 20 rebounds for Santiago. Dragons have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 6-4 record behind leader Santiago. Santiago at the other side still keeps top place with four games lost. Dragons are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Panteras (#4) in the next round. Santiago will play against Leona and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
An interesting game for Leona (4-5) which hosted in one of their biggest challengers Panteras (3-7). Third ranked Leona managed to get a 8-point victory 84-76. Odalmis Diaz scored 29 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Allie Taylor chipped in 17 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Leona's coach Brandon Hill allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side guard Samantha Calderon responded with 25 points. Leona maintains third position with 4-5 record having five points less than leader Santiago. Panteras at the other side stay at the bottom place with seven games lost. Leona will play against league's leader Santiago in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Panteras will play against the league's second-placed Dragons and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Leona - Panteras 84-76

An interesting game for Leona (4-5) which hosted in one of their biggest challengers Panteras (3-7). Third ranked Leona managed to get a 8-point victory 84-76. Leona outrebounded Panteras 37-26 including 16 on the offensive glass. Odalmis Diaz scored 29 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American swingman Allie Taylor (180-1994, college: Plattsburgh St.) chipped in 17 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Worth to mention Taylor played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped get the job in pro basketball. Leona's coach Brandon Hill allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side guard Samantha Calderon responded with 25 points and American point guard Amber Keith (170-1995, college: Weatherford JC) scored 16 points. Four Panteras players scored in double figures. Leona maintains third position with 4-5 record having five points less than leader Santiago. Panteras at the other side stay at the bottom place with seven games lost. Leona will play against league's leader Santiago in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week.
