Dominican Rep. TSF round 11 best performance: Marquisha Harris- April 7, 2023
The 29-year old player had a double-double of 23 points and 20 rebounds, while her team edged out Leona (#3, 4-6) 84-83. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Santiago to consolidate first place in the Dominican Rep. TSF. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Santiago has a very solid 8-4 record, but they cannot be too comfortable about keeping top position. Harris just recently signed at Santiago, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Marquisha Harris averages just after three games 22.7ppg and 19.3rpg. Worth to mention Harris played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped her get the job in pro basketball. The second best player in last round's games was young American Kristina Puthoff-King (180-PG-1992) of league's second-best Dragons. Puthoff-King had a very good evening with a double-double of 35 points and 12 rebounds. Bad luck as Dragons lost that game 61-89 to slightly lower-ranked Panteras (#4, 4-7). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Dragons still maintains its place in the top 2 of the standings, even despite this loss. Her team's 6-5 record is not bad at all. Puthoff-King is one of the most experienced players at Dragons and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 21.7ppg (#2). Her other stats are also decent: 10.8rpg and 7.8apg. Former University of Richmond star Puthoff-King is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Third on the list of top players last round was American guard Brittany Carter (183-G-1993) of Panteras (#4). Carter showcased her all-around game by recording 26 points, twelve rebounds (!!!) and five assists in the last round. She was a key player of Panteras, leading her team to a 89-61 easy win against #2 ranked Dragons. The chances of Panteras not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 7 games, recording just four victories. With bigger assistance of her teammates, Carter could try to bring Panteras' a little bit higher in the standings. The season just started for Carter as she played only first game. But it already looks like she can be team's leader. Other top performing players last week: 4. Allie Taylor (180-G/F-1994) of Leona - 27 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists 5. Aaliyah Rice (175-F-1997) of Leona - 20 points, 10 rebounds and 2 assists 6. Takisha Jordan (170-G-1994) of Panteras - 19 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists 7. Dariana Santos (180-F-1991) of Santiago - 25 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists 8. Ruth Aracena (F) of Panteras - 16 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists 9. Kiana Glenn (168-G-1997) of Leona - 16 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists 10. Odalmis Diaz) of Leona - 13 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc. The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy. The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
