Marquisha Harris claims Dominican Rep. TSF Hoops Agents weekly honour- April 9, 2023
The 29-year old power forward had a double-double of 20 points and twenty rebounds, while her team edged out Panteras (#4, 4-8) 70-69. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Santiago to consolidate first place in the Dominican Rep. TSF. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Santiago has a very solid 9-4 record, but they cannot be too comfortable about keeping top position. Harris just recently signed at Santiago, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Marquisha Harris averages this season 22.0ppg and 19.5rpg. Worth to mention Harris played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped her get the job in pro basketball. The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American point guard Kristina Puthoff-King (180-PG-1992) of second-ranked Dragons. Puthoff-King impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 30 points and 12 rebounds. Of course she led Dragons to another comfortable win 100-87 over slightly lower-ranked Leona (#3, 4-7) being unquestionably team leader. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Dragons consolidated its place in top 2 of the standings. Her team's 7-5 record is not bad at all. Puthoff-King is one of the most experienced players at Dragons and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 22.5ppg (#2). Her other stats are also decent: 10.9rpg and 7.8apg. University of Richmond alumni Puthoff-King played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. The third best performed player last round was another Dragons' star - American Toynetta Johnson (172-PG-1992). Johnson showcased her all-around game by recording 20 points, eight rebounds and eight assists in the last round. She was another key player of Dragons, helping her team with a 100-87 easy win against #3 ranked Leona. Dragons needs these victories very badly if they think about taking over top position in the standings. Their record at this point is 7 victories and 5 lost games. Johnson has a great season in Dominican Republic. After 12 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 7.5rpg (6th best) and assists with 5.8apg (3rd best). She also has 3.4spg and 1.8bpg. Other top performing players last week: 4. Brittany Carter (183-G-1993) of Panteras - 25 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists 5. Aaliyah Rice (175-F-1997) of Leona - 20 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists 6. Taylor Brown (170-PG-1993) of Dragons - 25 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists 7. Allie Taylor (180-G/F-1994) of Leona - 18 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists 8. Tyasia Willis (178-F-1997) of Santiago - 15 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists 9.
