Sportiva/AzorisHotels Ponta Delgada (Liga Feminina) added to their roster 29-year old Brazilian-Dominican Rep. forward Maira Horford (184cm-65kg-1995). Horford played this summer at Unimed Campinas Basquete in Brazilian Paulista. In 13 LBF games just recently she had 9.2ppg, 4.8rpg, 2.1apg and 1.2spg. She helped them to make it to the semifinals. The last season she played at Hierros Diaz Extremadura Miralvalle Plasencia in Spanish LF2 where in 28 games she recorded 9.6ppg, 5.9rpg, 2.2apg and 1.3spg.
Horford was a member of Brazilian U19 National Team back in 2013.
She has played also professionally in Croatia (Rijeka) and Spain (Barakaldo).
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others she was voted to Eurobasket.com Croatian League All-Imports Team back in 2021.
