Burrell graduated from University of Memphis in 2016. His excellent performance made his team Leones beat the Marineros 96 to 92. He also grabbed 8 rebounds and got 5 assists that game. Burrell is the 5th best scorer in the league averaging almost 19 points and 7 rebounds per game. Among many awards he won the Dominican Republic Santiago League championship title in 2023.
