American small forward Gerardo Suero (196-SF-1989, college: Albany) was the top scorer of the day in the world with the 30 points he had in the Dominican Republic league. Suero graduated from University at Albany in 2012. His excellent performance made his team Leones beat the Caneros 108 to 91. He is the 6th best scorer in the league averaging over 18 points and almost 3 rebounds per game. Among many awards he won the Dominican Republic TBS League championship title in 2018, 2021 and 2024. Suero was also selected as the Latinbasket AllDominican Republic TBS Domestic Player of the Year back in 2021.
