GIE Cibao Immortals (LDC) signed American forward Matt Smith, who stands at 201cm and played college basketball at Toledo, for the upcoming season. He most recently played for Georgia Spartans (UBA) in the U.S.

He has also played professionally between Germany (Uni Baskets), Morocco, and Portugal (Terceira).

Among many awards, he won the Portuguese Nacional 1 Divisao championship title in 2018. Smith was voted to the Eurobasket.com Portuguese Proliga All-Newcomers Team back in 2016 after averaging an impressive 18.1ppg (5th in the league)), 5.3rpg, FGP: 57.9%

He graduated from the University of Toledo in 2014 and this will be his 13th (!!!) season in pro basketball. Smith also played for the University of Wisconsin - Green Bay for one year.
