Power forward Luismal Ferreiras (200-PF-2003) had a very impressive game in the last round for second-ranked Indios de San Francisco, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 10.
The 22-year old player had a double-double of 21 points and 14 rebounds, while his team beat Marineros (#5, 5-7) 95-87. Indios maintains the 2nd position in Dominican Rep. LNB. They are still close to the very top. Indios would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 10-2 record. Ferreiras just recently signed at Indios, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Luismal Ferreiras has solid league stats. He is in league's top in points (5th best: 19.1ppg), rebounds (2nd best: 11.5rpg) and averages impressive 59.0% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young Andersson Mejia (201-F-2000) of Marineros de Puerto Plata. Mejia had a very good evening with a double-double of 31 points and 17 rebounds. Bad luck as Marineros lost that game 87-95 to the higher-ranked Indios (#2, 10-2). This loss caused Marineros to drop to 5th position in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 5-7 record. Mejia is one of the most experienced players at Marineros and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 19.9ppg (#4). His other stats are also decent: 14.1rpg and 9.6apg.

Third on the list of top players last round was swingman Jonathan Bello (195-G/F-2001) of Soles de Santo Domingo Este (#9). Bello got into 30-points club by scoring 31 points in the last round. He went also for six rebounds and eight assists. Despite Bello's great performance the Soles lost 102-131 to the higher-ranked Indios (#2, 10-2). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. Soles can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have extremely bad season and 2-9 record places them at the very bottom of the standings. Bello has individually a great season in Dominican Republic. After 11 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 18.2ppg (9th best) and assists with 5.0apg (6th best).
