Point guard Jaison Valdez (188-PG-1995) had an amazing evening in the last round for Heroes de Moca, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 1 (Second Stage).
The 30-year old player was the main contributor (19 points, eight rebounds and five assists) to his team's victory, helping them to crush Titanes (#2, 8-9) with 22-point margin 90-68. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Thanks to this victory Heroes moved-up to the 4th position in Dominican Rep. LNB. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier in Second Stage. Heroes will need more victories to improve their 10-7 record. In the team's last game Valdez had a remarkable 66.7% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Heroes, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Jaison Valdez has solid league stats. He is in league's top in assists (2nd best: 5.7apg) and averages impressive 52.7% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young DR Congolese Florent Thamba (208-C/F-1999) of Metros de Santiago. Thamba had a very good evening with 19 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Of course he led Metros to another comfortable win 91-78 over Reales (8-9) being unquestionably team leader. The Second Stage is still at the very beginning and this victory may help a lot. Let's wait for the next round. Thamba is one of the most experienced players at Metros and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was forward Luismal Ferreiras (200-PF-2003) of Indios de San Francisco (#5). Ferreiras scored 14 points and grabbed 12 rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Indios, leading his team to a 85-81 win against Caneros (#6, 8-9). Indios needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 13 victories and 4 lost games. Ferreiras has a great season in Dominican Republic. After 17 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 19.1ppg (5th best) and rebounds with 11.1rpg (2nd best).

10. Ramon Galloway (190-G-1991) of Reales - 17 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists
