VEE YOUNG

Leones de Riobamba (Liga Femenina) added to their roster 28-year old American power forward Vee Young (186-89, college: Martin Methodist). She moved there from played at AXSE BasCats USC Heidelberg in German DBBL where she started the season. In 22 games she recorded very impressive stats: 17.7ppg, 8.3rpg and 1.3spg this season. A very spectacular year in her career as she was voted to Eurobasket.com All-German DBBL Honorable Mention and League Player of the Week. The last season Young played at IK Eos in Swedish Damligan. In 26 games she was third best scorer with remarkable 18.0ppg and had 10.0rpg (#3 in the league), 1.2apg and 1.5spg. Great season indeed as she was voted to Eurobasket.com All-Swedish Damligan 3rd Team and League Player of the Week (3 times).
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others Young was voted All-TranSouth 1st Team back in 2011 and 2012 at her college time.
Thanks to Young's pro career she managed to play on three different continents (Europe, Latin America and of course North America). Young has played previously professionally in Puerto Rico (Leonas), Romania (Cluj Napoca and Targu Mures) and Czech Republic (SBS Ostrava).
She is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas.
Young attended Martin Methodist College until 2012 and it is her sixth season as a professional player.
The scouts decsribe her following way: Vee is a great scorer and rebounder at the forward position. She has an inside-outside game and is able post up smaller players while beating bigger players off the dribble. Vee is very athletic and is able to dunk a tennis ball. She was the 3rd leading scorer in NAIA Division I during the 2011-2012 season.
Vee Young is a Power Forward with great athletic qualities, having very good speed and quickness. Against smaller opponents, she will use her post up skills to score. Against bigger opponents, she will lure them out of the paint and beat them off the dribble or she will use her array of offensive moves to create separation and shoot a short or mid range jumper. Has a tremendous mid range jump shot and a good 3PCT shot as well. Excellent rebounder, due to her great leaping abilities
