Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Iccan (11-2) in Vinces on Tuesday night. Visitors were rolled over by fourth ranked Juvenil (8-4) 87-65. It ended at the same time the nine-game winning streak of Iccan. Juvenil made 21-of-25 free shots (84.0 percent) during the game. American guard Paul Marigney (191-82, college: St.Mary's, CA) stepped up and scored 41 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds for the winners and his fellow American import center Randy Phillips (203-95, college: Radford) chipped in 14 points and 6 rebounds. At the losing side Cuban forward Darol Hernandez (206-89) responded with 10 points and 7 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Juvenil have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain fourth place with 8-4 record. Defending champion Iccan still keeps top position with two games lost. Juvenil are looking forward to face ABC (#9) in Santo Domingo in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Iccan will play at home against the league's second-placed Piratas (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Very important is a home loss of second ranked Barcelona (10-3) against fifth ranked Guerreros (8-5) on Tuesday night. Host Barcelona was crushed by Guerreros in Guayaquil 90-67. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Barcelona. Americans were the main players on the court. Swingman Deilvez Yearby (200-87, college: PFW) nailed a double-double by scoring 30 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side and Charlie Shorter accounted for 23 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. John Shodipo (196-88, college: DuPage JC) came up with 25 points and 6 rebounds for Barcelona in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guerreros maintains fifth place with 8-5 record. Barcelona at the other side keeps the second position with three games lost. They share it with Piratas. Guerreros will play against bottom-ranked Triple E-Uda (#10) in Gualaceo in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Barcelona will play on the road against Leones (#8) in Riobamba and hopes to get back on the winning track.
10th ranked Triple E-Uda (1-12) was outscored at home by sixth ranked Punto Rojo (6-7) with the biggest margin this round 94-62 on Tuesday night. Sam Prescott fired 17 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Jean Pierre produced a double-double by scoring 17 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Punto Rojo maintains sixth place with 6-7 record, which they share with Portoviejo. Triple E-Uda lost fifth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 12 games lost. Punto Rojo will meet at home Portoviejo (#7) in the next round. Triple E-Uda will play against Guerreros in Santo Domingo and hope to win that game.

In the last two games of round 13 Portoviejo won against ABC on the opponent's court 79-66. Piratas outscored Leones in a home game 82-62.

Triple E-Uda - Punto Rojo 62-94

10th ranked Triple E-Uda (1-12) was outscored at home by sixth ranked Punto Rojo (6-7) with the biggest margin this round 94-62 on Tuesday night. Punto Rojo dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Triple E-Uda's 22. Punto Rojo forced 19 Triple E-Uda turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. His fellow American import swingman Jerel Blocker (193-88, college: Lee, agency: DTMones) chipped in 19 points. Four Punto Rojo players scored in double figures. Venezuelan power forward Jean Pierre (205-91) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists and Milton Romo (-90) added 13 points and 7 assists respectively for lost side.
