Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

The biggest surprise of round 14 was guest Portoviejo's (7-7) road victory over 6th ranked Punto Rojo (6-8) 84-81 on Saturday evening. The best player for the winners was American power forward Zach Reynolds (206-90, college: N.Arizona) who had a double-double by scoring 12 points, 20 rebounds and 6 assists. Venezuelan swingman Emilio Cappare (199-90) chipped in 21 points and 8 rebounds. American guard Sam Prescott (190-90, college: Mt.St.Mary's, agency: SDJ Sports) produced 25 points and 5 assists for the hosts. Portoviejo have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place. Punto Rojo at the other side dropped to the seventh position with eight games lost. Portoviejo are looking forward to face higher ranked Guerreros (#5) in Santo Domingo in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Punto Rojo will play on the road against ABC in Santo Domingo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Guayaquil. First ranked Iccan faced second-ranked Piratas. Host Iccan (12-2) defeated guests from Ibarra (10-4) 83-72. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Piratas. Venezuelan guard Jesus Centeno (190-85) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 6 rebounds and 12 assists. Cesar Silva contributed with 21 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American power forward Willie Readus (201-92, college: Delta St., agency: DTMones) replied with 22 points and 6 rebounds for Piratas. Defending champion maintains first position with 12-2 record. Piratas at the other side dropped to the third place with four games lost. Iccan's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Guayaquil to the arena Barcelona.

Guerreros - Triple E-Uda 114-71

The game with biggest result difference took place in Santo Domingo. Local Guerreros (9-5) outscored 10th ranked Triple E-Uda (1-13) 114-71 on Friday night. Guerreros dominated down low during the game scoring 78 of its points in the paint compared to Triple E-Uda's 52. They outrebounded Triple E-Uda 54-36 including a 43-30 advantage in defensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Guerreros made 7 blocks. American swingman Deilvez Yearby (200-87, college: PFW) had a double-double by scoring 42 points (!!!) and 16 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import guard Charlie Shorter (185-90, college: MidAmerica Ch.) chipped in 19 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists during the contest. Four Guerreros players scored in double figures. Guerreros' coach felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Malik Jenkins (201-89) responded with 26 points and 6 rebounds and Francisco Penafiel (-98) scored 14 points and 5 rebounds. Guerreros maintains fifth position with 9-5 record. There was no surprise in Vinces where 9th ranked ABC (2-12) was crushed by fourth ranked Juvenil (9-4) 77-57 on Friday. Juvenil forced 23 ABC turnovers. Rodrigo Dicado (-96) scored 16 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American guard Paul Marigney (191-82, college: St.Mary's, CA) chipped in 17 points and 4 assists during the contest. Four Juvenil players scored in double figures. Juvenil's coach used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Cuban forward Yasmany Fundora (201-92) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 15 rebounds and South Sudanese center Ajak Magot (211-92, college: Idaho St.) scored 17 points and 6 rebounds. Juvenil have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 9-4 record. ABC lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with 12 games lost. Juvenil will meet higher ranked Piratas (#3) in the next round and it may be the game of the week. ABC will play against Punto Rojo (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

KB Trepca Mitrovice (Superliga) added to their roster 27-year old American power forward Zach Reynolds (206-109kg-90, college: N.Arizona). He played last summer at Portoviejo in Ecuadorian National League. In 17 games he had 11.9ppg, 11.9rpg (leader !!!) and 1.3apg. Reynolds also played for Vancouver in U.S. semi-pro league NAPB.
