Iccan signs Axiers Sucre, ex Gigantes, for Liga Sudamericana

AXIERS SUCRE

Club Iccan de Macas (National League) signed experienced 40-year old Venezuelan ex-international forward Axiers Sucre (199-78) for the upcoming edition of Liga Sudamericana (LSB). He played last summer at Gigantes in Venezuelan LPB league. In 16 games he had 13.8ppg, 10.2rpg (leader !!!) and 2.4apg. Sucre helped them to end the regular season as a second best team in the league. They also advanced to the league semifinals. A very impressive season as he was voted Latinbasket.com All-Venezuelan LPB Forward of the Year, named to 1st Team and named to Latinbasket.com All-Venezuelan LPB 1st Team.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others he played in the final of Venezuelan LNB in 2017. Sucre was also voted Latinbasket.com All-Venezuelan LNB Player of the Year in 2016.
He represented Venezuela at the Olympic Games Additional Qualifying Round in Caracas (Venezuela) six years ago. His stats at that event were 2 games: 0pts, 2.0rpg.
Sucre has played also professionally in Argentina and Mexico and Venezuela (Marinos, Miranda, Tiburones, Karinas and Estrellas Occidentales).
Sucre could be described: A front court player with an incredible leaping ability and a teamwork mentality; started his career as a very poor skilled undersized center, but then learnt the game front to the basket and now is playing stably at the PF; has a bright future even at the SF if he will add a reliable outside shot; could improve again, because he loves to improve his fundamentals;.
