PAUL MARIGNEY

Experienced American Paul Marigney (191-G-82) put on an amazing game in the last round for Juvenil and that's him to receive a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 17.
The 36-year old guard had a double-double of 47 points and sixteen rebounds, while his team crushed Triple E-Uda (#10, 1-16) with 16-point margin 88-72. Juvenil maintains the 3rd position in Ecuadorian National League. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Juvenil will need more victories to improve their 11-6 record. In the team's last game Marigney had a remarkable 61.1% from 2-point range and got four three-pointers out of 6 attempts. He turned to be Juvenil's top player in his first season with the team. Saint Mary's College of California graduate has very impressive stats this year. Marigney is league's best scorer averaging so far 26.3ppg. Marigney is in league's top in rebounds (7th best: 8.6rpg), assists (8th best: 3.4apg) and averages solid 2.1spg and 51.7% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 37-year old American Aaron Harper (203-SF-81) of Leones. Harper impressed basketball fans with 38 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists. It was enough for Leones to edge slightly higher-ranked Barcelona (#5, 10-7) by 5 points 101-96. This victory allowed Leones to move up to 7th position in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 7-10 record. Harper is a newcomer at Leones and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was American Charlie Shorter (185-G-90) of Guerreros (#4). Shorter got into 30-points club by scoring 31 points in the last round. He went also for ten rebounds . He was a key player of Guerreros, leading his team to a 69-63 win against the lower-ranked ABC (#9, 2-15). Guerreros needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 11 victories and 6 lost games. Shorter has a great season in Ecuador. After 17 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 21.5ppg (5th best) and assists with 5.0apg (3rd best). He also has 2.7spg and FGP: 54.7%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Jordan Johnson (183-PG-92) of Portoviejo - 32 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assists
5. Jamaal Samuel (206-F-93) of Leones - 23 points and 10 rebounds
6. Alex Johnson (178-PG-88) of Leones - 22 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists
7. Marvin Cairo (201-G/F-91) of Piratas - 26 points and 5 rebounds
8. Carlos Carcelen (202-C-81) of Barcelona - 29 points and 5 rebounds
9. Mairon Cuero Racines (190-F-89) of Iccan - 26 points
10. Jean Pierre (205-F/C-91) of Triple E-Uda - 21 points and 9 rebounds

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
