Leones sign Shayla Cooper, ex B.Yehuda

Leones de Riobamba (Liga Femenina) signed 24-year old American forward Shayla Cooper (188-95, college: Ohio State). She moved there from B.Yehuda in Israeli D1 league where she started the season. In 16 games she had very impressive stats: 16.4ppg, 12.1rpg (#4 in the league), 2.8apg and 1.3spg this season. Cooper also played for Bretagne Basket (LFB) in French league. In 7 D1 games she recorded 8.9ppg, 4.4rpg, 1.4apg and 1.4spg.
Two years ago she was drafted by Connecticut Sun (WNBA) in second round (13th overall).
Cooper attended Ohio State until 2017 and it will be her second season in pro basketball.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others her team was regular season runner-up in Big Ten in 2016. Cooper was also voted All-Big Ten 2nd Team in 2017 at her college time.
Cooper has played previously professionally in Hungary (Cegledi EKK) and Spain (Al-Qazeres).
